We examined the role of locus of control and negative coping in influencing the relationships between fatalism and Chinese college students’ depression, anxiety, and stress. Participants were 525 college students, who completed an online questionnaire. The results showed that fatalism, locus of control, negative coping, depression, anxiety, and stress were positively correlated with each other. Further, locus of control and negative coping serially mediated the influence of fatalism on depression, anxiety, and stress among college students. Thus, the good mental health of college students weakens fatalistic beliefs and also changes their locus of control and coping style.
