Keren Segal
Associate Editor

I joined the SBP Journal team at the end of 2018, just as I was finishing my PhD research in Psychology at the University of Otago, New Zealand. My research focused on death anxiety, and the role of possessions in providing us relief from it. In addition to serving as an Associate Editor at SBP Journal, I work as an Assistant Research Fellow at the Department of Psychology at the University of Otago studying how written narratives affect our health and wellbeing. I’m passionate about teaching, and in recent years taught research methods at the Bachelor of Social Services programme at Otago Polytechnic, as well as conflict group facilitation at the Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution at Otago Polytechnic. I’m excited to start co-teaching the Contemporary Issues in Psychology at the Department of Psychology at the University of Otago in 2024. When not working, I homeschool my daughters, attend to my veggie garden and love to spend time outdoors.
