Applying the perspective of sensemaking, in this study we examined the multiple mediating effects of employees’ supportive intention for digital transformation and work engagement in the relationship between their perception of meaning in the digital transformation and their workplace well-being. Data were collected in two waves from a sample of 213 knowledge-based employees of a high-technology company located in southern China. The results showed that perceived digital transformation meaning enhanced employees’ workplace well-being through motivating digital transformation supportive intention and work engagement. Digital transformation supportive intention and work engagement played a chain mediating effect between perceived digital transformation meaning and workplace well-being. These findings contribute to understanding of how perceived digital transformation meaning positively affects employees’ work outcomes.
