Effects of changes in weight, physical activity, and anxiety on the blood glucose levels of 59 adults with Type II diabetes were tested. Significant improvements in weight, volume of physical activity, anxiety, and blood glucose were associated with a cognitive-behavioral treatment of 4-5 one-on-one sessions over 26 weeks. Changes in weight, physical activity, and anxiety predicted blood glucose change (R2 = .14), with only change in physical activity being a significant, unique contributor to the variance explained. The findings are discussed in terms of targeted interventions for lowering blood glucose levels.
