We developed a questionnaire for assessing urban community conflict (UCC) in China and tested its reliability and validity. A preliminary questionnaire was prepared based on interviews and a literature review. We conducted a pretest with 332 urban community residents and the results were processed using item analysis and exploratory factor analysis. The formal test involved another 378 urban community residents. The final UCC questionnaire included 25 items divided across three dimensions. The three-factor model had acceptable fit indices, internal consistency, and construct validity. Thus, the questionnaire can be used as a valid measurement tool for UCC research in China.
