In this paper the work of Lawrence Kohlberg and Carol Gilligan are reflected on as a missing chapter in the counseling curricula, and the explanatory power of each theory is discussed. How Kohlberg’s theory mirrors the “separate” truth of theories of development is illustrated, along with the alternative truths suggested by Gilligan.
